You MIGHT be able to take someone out from behind with one if they were assault, and probably could a scout, but that honestly sounds pretty stupid with a heavy.
Basically, stop trying to 1v1 a heavy at close range as a scout anyone with a weak gun. I don't know how new you are to first person shooters, but it's just a bad idea to take on the guy with the most health with arguably the weakest gun that requires the closest range.
Anyway besides that, heavies are lightweights in group combat which is ironic and sad. I'm willing to bet just about anything I'm way more experienced to FPS's than you. I always have at least a 2 to 1 ratio and I've been playing them online for about 10 years now. I know the SMG is a sidearm, but it is clearly meant to be a weapon that you can main. Look at how much damage it can dish out and how much it can cost to purchase/equip. No one runs around with a proto SMG with the intent of using it as a back up weapon, as if their real primary weapon is actually stronger. I've got my 2.5 to 1 ratio in this game by running and gunning with the SMG. I've taken out plenty of heavies from behind and I still do, but it's not like it's easy. Heavy armor is not underpowered. The HMG is not underpowered. Just like everything else in this game you need to learn it's strengths and weaknesses and you need to add the skills and equipment to it. The HMG/Heavy armor is not underpowered or overpowered at all, so people need to stop complaining about it until they have leveled up the play style enough. If it really were underpowered, people wouldn't be able to go 34 and 6.
That guy could have gotten some of the kills from gunning in a vehicle. So a primary weapon that fires full sized rounds at a distance less than that of a rifle and does less damage on all levels than a smg. And to top it off it overheats even though it has a limited ammunition and the second worse accuracy of any weapon in the game.
Also a weapon can be proto and still used as a backup (scrambler) |

I like the way they are. People using hmg's need to learn how to tailor their play styles to the weapon and use it in a map that is more hmg friendly. Current skirmish map is tailored for vehicles, the one thing hmgs cant do
Hmgs and smgs actually make the best av weapons(smg a lot better) because of their high damage potential coupled with a large target means normally missed rounds going into one target but both have a low effect on dropships due to range. I chewed through about half of a sagaris' shield using advanced hmg and smg |

Hell no i would never attack a friends tank (especially after dishing out heavy damage with it) and isn't the sagaris suppose to be a shield tank? |

I can drive a lot better and pull off more complex maneuvers when i know my gunner can understand what im trying to do. A lot of the time, ill let the gunners have the kill instead of going after everything with my main gun....then i dont have to expose my tank to enemy fire. Yes, the sagaris has much more shield than armor.
Even though i like gunning for you, i would rather use a railgun than missiles but the only advantage railguns have is accuracy. Other than that it's inferior to the other turrets |

Problem is most scrubs just jump out when they see a small railgun instead of a missile turret. All you had to do is ask. edit: you prefer a front or top railgun?
Front for a bit more av/ installation capability and the top seems like more of an anti infantry spot because of it's wider coverage. Also i find it to be bs that the top turrets don't have 360 coverage like lavs. |

Actually keep it how it is, i just try to be good with all turrets just in case they buff the railgun and until i can pay you back i won't do something that could waste your isk |
